About me

Jordi Mas, PhD MBA, is a professional manager in the sector of scientific research and innovation. He has a background in science in the field of biotechnology and microbial ecology, holding a PhD from the University of Barcelona. After his post-doctoral training he focused on management – he holds an MBA from ESADE Business School, Barcelona – and has worked mainly for foundations, non-profit organizations, and public administrations.

In this capacity, his responsibilities have ranged from Director General of the Catalan Foundation for Research and Innovation (FCRI), Coordinator of International Relations at the Secretariat for Universities and Research (SUR) of the Catalan Government, Executive Director of the Agency for Management of University and Research Grants (AGAUR), Program Officer of the Spanish Supercomputing Network (RES) at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC-CNS), and Territorial Director – Catalonia of the Fundación Promete.

He has taught biotechnology, microbiology, strategy, innovation, and entrepreneurship at different national and international universities.
